Principal OwnerJ. Kevin Gorospe, Pharm.D. is the Principal Owner of Gorospe Solutions, LLC.
Dr. Gorospe has more than 34 years of experience as a pharmacist and has a diverse background in the pharmaceutical industry including experience in retail pharmacy and in long-term care and mental health pharmacy medicine as a consultant pharmacist in the private sector and as a pharmacy administrator with the California Department of Developmental Services. Dr. Gorospe’s government policy expertise stems from his more than nine years as the pharmacy policy administrator for Medi-Cal, the nation’s largest state Medicaid program. In this role he provided oversight of the drug, medical supply, and nutritional supplement benefits, including negotiating contracts with manufacturers for discounted pricing and supplemental drug rebates. He was also responsible for development of the Medi-Cal pharmacy program budget, developing new policies and authoring legislation to enact policy changes, and acting as the primary consultant on pharmaceutical issues to the California Health and Human Services Agency, the office of the Governor, as well as the California State Legislature. After leaving Medi-Cal, Dr. Gorospe was employed as a Principal with Health Management Associate (HMA), working with a variety of clients including government agencies, pharmaceutical manufacturers, health plans, pharmacy benefit managers, healthcare providers, advocacy groups and professional organizations. As the Principal Owner of Gorospe Solutions LLC, he continues to provide services to a similarly diverse group of clients either through direct contracts or as a subcontractor to companies such as HMA. In his private life, Dr. Gorospe enjoys spending time with family and friends, especially when it comes to playing golf. In addition to being an avid golfer, he also volunteers his time to support PGA and LPGA charities by volunteering as a marshal at PGA, Senior PGA, and LPGA events. Dr. Gorospe earned his Doctor of Pharmacy degree in 1982 from the Thomas J. Long School of Pharmacy, University of the Pacific, in Stockton, California. |
